19-year-old gets engaged to 56-year-old grandmother
At first glance, most people might think Wuthichai Chantaraj, 19, is 56-year-old Janla Namuangrak’s nephew, son, or even grandson. However, reality is far from it. They are actually a couple and have been dating for two years.
Wuthichai met Janla when he was just 10 years old, when the latter moved next to his family home in the Akat Amnuay district of Thailand’s Sakhon Nakhon province.
Their first interaction occurred when Janla asked for Wuthichai’s help with cleaning her home. He went ahead to help her, and in the process of moving her potted plants and doing chores for the woman regularly, the pair struck up a friendship.
They have now been in a relationship for two years and go on dates in the town and to restaurants.
Couple are not worried about criticism
They pay no heed to what people have to say about their age gap and are not shy about showing affection in public, regularly holding hands and kissing each other.
While they were best of friends, it all turned to be much more when Wuthichai turned 17. He started developing feelings for Janla, and they eventually became a couple.
They only announced their romance to their families at the start of this year, and their love story has been making headlines in Thailand ever since.
“I have been with Janla for two years now. It’s the first time in my life I felt like I wanted to make sure someone was living comfortably,” Wuthichai said.
He said he saw her in a shabby house and started thinking of ways to help her live in a better condition. Wuthichai called her now-girlfriend a hardworking woman and honest.
On the other hand, Janla said that Wuthichai makes her feel young again.
The grandmother split up with her previous partner-her husband of 20 years, with whom she has three children and are all in their 30’s.
Janla raved about Wuthichai and said he was like a superhero to her. She said he helped her every day. She went on to say that when he was older, they started to have feelings for each other.
The couple are going strong and have plans to get married in the future.
