We’re a fickle lot, aren’t we? Less than a year ago, hordes of (extremely well-adjusted) individuals were flocking to the Cornelia Street apartment where Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn first became “Jaylor,” so racked with grief over the break-up of two people they categorically did not know that they actually tried to tear down a street sign—only to forget Alwyn’s very existence the moment that a certain tight end appeared with a hammy fistful of friendship bracelets and a Kansas City mansion carefully fitted out with cat flaps. (Go Chiefs!)

With the exception of a cameo at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, Joe has been keeping a low profile since the split, presumably devoting his time to forming some sort of “Swifty Survivors Support Group” with Jake Gyllenhaal ahead of his own “All Too Well”-esque crucible, but he resurfaced at Loewe’s AW24 Menswear presentation in Paris on January 20, grinning the grin of a press-shy man no longer dating someone who’s very preference for “seemingly ranch” is considered worthy fodder for Forbes articles. (For what it’s worth, Loewe does make excellent red scarves.)

Also in the gang of famous ex-boyfriends to even more famous women in attendance at Jonathan Anderson’s presentation? The lesser-spotted Zayn Malik, erstwhile partner to Gigi Hadid, supermodel and long-time member of Swift’s squad. The one-time One Directioner had previously popped up at the Kenzo AW24 Menswear show on Friday, his first appearance on the front row since 2018, precipitating such chaos outside the venue that a car ran over his toes. (“My foot is fine!! Thanks to my incredibly well-made shoes,” he later wrote on Instagram—a ringing endorsement for buying less but better if ever I heard one.)
