Video of Seungri Harshly Treating a Woman Sparks Outrage in Korea

BBC’s “Burning Sun” documentary recently revealed a video of former BIGBANG member Seungri harshly treating a woman.

Recently, the investigative team of BBC World Service released a documentary about the Burning Sun scandal. In this documentary, two South Korean female journalists publicly exposed the sexual scandals involving Korean stars that caused a major uproar some years ago.

In particular, scenes involving Seungri, a former member of BIGBANG, sparked widespread anger among netizens. In the more than one-hour-long video, international media described the moment Seungri appeared at a party as “the most terrifying scene of the documentary.”

Particularly, Seungri can be seen harshly treating a woman, from yelling in her face, continuously grabbing her hand, dragging her, to even nearly hitting her in the face.

This footage of Seungri has immediately sparked outrage in Korea, with a “theqoo” topic covering it attracting over 85,000 views and almost 300 comments.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • It is devastating to think that this is the reality in Korea…. That something like this could only be made public through foreign media after all the perpetrators were released from prison.
  • Wow, I’m really throwing up.
  • A piece of trash like that was an idol… And the fact that he only received a 1.5 year sentence was sickening
  • It doesn’t make sense that he has already been released from prison and is going around events without any problems. It shows how rotten Korea is as a society.
  • Wow, why wasn’t something like that made public until now?
