Sony was allegedly hoping to build a Valiant Comics Universe like the MCU or DCEU.
However, Bloodshot was not a success at the box office as the Covid-19 pandemic began right around the release of the movie and the movie only grossed around $37.1 million against a budget of $45 million. The movie also received negative reviews from critics for Vin Diesel’s underwhelming portrayal of Bloodshot.

Groot has appeared in 6 Marvel movies so far namely, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. On top of that, the character does not even have any such complex lines in the movies, he just has to say “I am Groot“.
To put things more into context, Zoe Saldana has reportedly only made $10-15 million for her portrayal of Gamora throughout the MCU in seven movies and Dave Bautista has earned almost $15 to $20 million for his portrayal of Drax the Destroyer in the franchise.
