What are the reasons why an older couple decides to separate?

There are many reasons why older couples decide to separate and here are some of the reasons:

1. The children have all grown up and the wife who was never happy in the marriage, decided to leave the controlling husband to try out new things on her own like going out on holiday with her friends, to move abroad to stay and etc.

2. The husband decided to have relationship with younger women some of them can be from foreign countries. This is also the cause of divorce because, no sensible wife would put up with such unfaithful husband.

3. The spouse (normally the wife) decided she is better off financially and emotionally by splitting up from the long term husband, because she had enough of taking care of husband, family, an being an unpaid housekeeper for years. Living on your own will give you more time for yourself to do what you want to do, like studying for a degree or following a hobby.

4. It is no longer a taboo to divorce and there is still life after divorce if one is not manipulated to enter into another unhealthy relationship which may bankrupt the spouse with the splitting of assets and money. Many senior men have been fleeced by younger woman.

5. Husband and wife decided to split up because each of them want to lead their own life independently since all the children have grown up and there is no religious constrain or any belief to keep them together.
