It’s well-known in the world of showbiz that Marjorie Barretto has five children: Dani (31), Julia (27), Claudia (24), Leon (21), and Erich (12).
Three of them—Dani, Julia, and Claudia—have already stepped into the limelight, and are presently carving out their own careers as a content creator, actress, and singer, respectively.
Fans are now curious if her son and youngest child will follow suit.
In a brief chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Leon was asked if he is considering a career in showbiz.
“I’ll get back to you on that,” he said in an interview last April 28, 2024, during the advance screening of Secret Ingredient, at Seda Hotel in Bonifacio Global City.
In the meantime, Leon wants to finish his college studies first before he firms up his decision to pursue a career in showbiz.
“Let me finish college na… I’m upcoming fourth year, so let’s focus on school muna. Let’s see.”
But what about Erich?
PEP.ph asked Marjorie if her daughter has shown any interest in showbiz, and Marjorie turned to ask Erich directly.
Erich simply answered, “I don’t know…”

Hearing her daughter’s answer, Marjorie candidly said, “That makes me nervous when they say, I don’t know.
“May Leon pa, ay naku! Ewan ko, ewan ko ba sa mga ito.
“That makes me nervous. That makes me nervous. We can’t go through another Julia again.”
Shifting to a more serious tone, Marjorie shared her honest thoughts about her remaining two kids joining showbiz.
If she has her way, she prefers for them to live a quiet life away from the limelight.
She told PEP.ph, “To be honest, talagang sana yung mga anak ko, hindi na mag-artista.”
Marjorie, however, mentioned that they would be allowed to join showbiz if they were prepared to face every challenge that comes with being an artista, especially the bashing.
“Kasi, it’s such a, it really takes a lot of because, you know, the bashing, the judgment, social media, iyan lang naman the downsides.”
“Pero, kapag na-surrender na nila they’re strong enough. Okay naman. Okay na.”
