James explained that when he comes up with something that would make a funny comic, he writes it down in his giant list of ideas and runs it by his friends and family to see if they find it funny. “A big factor on what idea I decide to turn into a comic is what I feel like drawing next—if I feel like drawing cute animals, I’ll pick a joke from my list of ideas with animals,” added the artist. “I also have a lot of comic ideas that I love, but they would be a pain to draw, so I unfortunately keep putting those off for later.”
