When it comes to their acting careers, real-life couple Julia Montes and Coco Martin excel at keeping their personal and professional lives separate.
During an interview with Boy Abunda on the October 6, 2023 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Julia discussed her latest project with Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards, titled Five Break-Ups and a Romance.
The TV host inquired whether Coco approved of the intimate scene depicted in the movie trailer between Julia and Alden.
In response, Julia stated, “Siguro po may ano kami, meron kaming pag-uusap ni Coco na pag work, support.
“Ganun kami, supportive and Coco is very supportive ever since.”
When asked to clarify if Coco does not impose boundaries, the 28-year-old actress shared, “Hindi naman po sa wala.
“Pero this film kasi po, Tito Boy, importante yung part na yun.”
She continued, “Kasi ang kuwento po niya hindi siya yung nagka-inlaban, tapos ipapakita lahat ng happy moments lang.”
“Ito kasi mafo-focus siya sa hardships ng relationship. So kailangan kami magpakita a bit of the happy side of the relationship.
“So, hindi siya more of sa love scene lang siya or intimate scene lang siya.
“It’s more of yung love ng two person.”
After discussing that they respect and support each other’s work milestones, Julia was asked about Coco’s reaction regarding the scene.
Julia laughed and covered her mouth in embarrassment, “Hindi ako nagsabi.
She repeated, “Hindi po ako nagsasabi, and then nahihiya ako.
“Super mahiyain po kasi ako talaga.
“So, sa part na to, ginawa ko lang yung film, sinabi ko po yung buong story, and then nagandahan kasi rin siya dun sa synopsis.”
ACTING PROCESS
As with any scenes she had done in the past, Julia related how she acts on the spot: “Ako po, siguro ang process ko po matuturing ko na hindi ko siya pinaplano.”
She explained, “Kasi minsan pag pinaplano ko tapos hindi ko nagawa yung pinlano ko, nafu-frustrate po ako. Nag-dodomino effect.
“Basta kilala ko lang, Tito Boy, yung character ko.
“Kung pa paano siya magsasalita, kung pa paano siya magre-react, yun yung obligation ko sa writer, sa director.”
She went on, “But kung pa paano yung proseso ko as an actor po, hindi ko siya yung pinaplano na ito ko siya bibitawan.
“Binibigay ko po siya based doon sa co-actor ko.
“So kung ano yung reaction ng co-actor ko, i-re-react ko lang po siya.”
