BLACKPINK’s Lisa has set another world record, entering her name into eight different categories of the Guinness World Records
Lisa’s solo album, “LALISA,” released in September 2021, has broken the 1 billion stream mark on Spotify, setting a new world record. It was officially certified by the Guinness World Records in the UK on September 27, which was announced 19 days later through their official website and social media.
With this achievement, Lisa became the “first K-pop soloist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.” Prior to this, she was included in the Guinness World Records in May with two other world records for her solo album “LALISA,” including “the first K-pop solo artist album to break 1 billion streams on Spotify.”
Additionally, on October 26 of the previous year, Lisa rewrote the Guinness World Records with “the shortest time to achieve 1 billion streams on Spotify by a K-pop female solo artist.”
Guinness specifically noted that “Lisa’s songs available for streaming on Spotify are only three,” highlighting the global influence of her songs.
Lisa also holds records for “most-watched solo artist YouTube video within 24 hours,” “most-watched K-pop solo artist YouTube video within 24 hours,” and “the first K-pop solo artist to win at the MTV Video Music Awards.”
Taking all these achievements into account, Lisa has now left her mark in eight different categories of the Guinness World Records as a K-pop solo artist.
On another note Lisa has been in the spotlight for contract renewal discussions with her agency YG Entertainment. She recently received the “2023 Special Honor Cultural Award” from Thailand’s Ministry of Culture on October 3rd, her home country.
