It was cold in Kansas City for the Chiefs’ wild-card game against the Dolphins. That left players and fans alike searching for warm clothes and outfits to wear at the game on Saturday.
That included pop star Taylor Swift, who was on-hand to watch her boyfriend — Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — try to earn another playoff victory.
Swift showed up to the game in a custom-made jacket, an oversized garment that was a replica of a Kelce jersey. It had an 87 on the back and front of it with “Kelce” stitched atop the back of it.
Naturally, the jacket garnered plenty of attention, as all of Swift’s outfits do. However, this one had a unique connection to the 49ers, as it was designed by Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
Here’s everything to know about Swift’s jacket as it continues to take the Internet by storm.
Swift was first spotted in her Travis Kelce jacket as she entered Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday. She was seen in it as she made her way to her luxury suite, as captured by the NBC cameras on hand for the contest.
The jacket instantly popped when paired with Swift’s white knit hat and the rest of her all-black ensemble.
Per usual, Swifties fawned over it on social media. However, it drew extra attention from the NFL community because members of the 49ers were quick to share it to support the jacket’s designer, Kristin Juszczyk.
Why? Because she is the wife of the team’s All-Pro fullback, Kyle Juszczyk, as he noted on X (formerly Twitter).
As mentioned, Kristin Juszczyk is married to Kyle Juszczyk, who plays for the 49ers and has been a Pro Bowler for eight consecutive seasons. That’s why her name is familiar to NFL fans.
That said, Kristin has started to make a name for herself in the fashion industry in recent years. She got her start by making her own Halloween costumes, per NBC Sports Bay Area. She bought a sewing machine and utilized YouTube to learn how to do a basic stitch, allowing her to make a Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake costume for her and her husband.
Since then, Juszczyk has designed NFL-themed outfits — namely, her original-design “puffers” — for Simone Biles, Deebo Samuel and Brittany Mahomes. Now, she can add Swift to that list, and it is thanks, in part, to a daring move on her part.
As detailed by Kate Rooney of The San Francisco Chronicle, Juszczyk sent Swift a jacket after she made one for Mahomes. Her decision to “shoot her shot” and hope Swift would wear it ultimately paid off.
Juszczyk has made a variety of pieces, but her Swift jacket has undoubtedly drawn the most attention. She provided a look at the process that went into making the coat, which included cutting the numbers off a Kelce jersey and sewing it to a puffy jacket.
