Thompson allegedly placed his iPhone upside down behind the red stickers, with the camera facing out from underneath. The victim used his phone to take pictures of the scene before leaving the bathroom.
Thompson waited for the girl outside and went back to the bathroom immediately. When the victim returned to her seat, she informed her parents about what she saw and showed them the photo as evidence.
Found incriminating evidence on iCloud
The victim’s parents reported the incident to other flight attendants on the flight, who informed the captain. The captain immediately notified law enforcement on the ground.
The victim’s father could not control his emotions and decided to confront Thompson, but he hid by locking himself in the bathroom with his iPhone.
When law enforcement officials met Thompson at the airport, they found that his iPhone had been restored to factory settings.
However, subsequent searches of Thompson’s suitcases revealed that he was carrying 11 “non-functioning food service equipment”; stickers similar to those the victim discovered on the back of the toilet seat.
Thompson’s iCloud account also contained evidence that he filmed four other minors (ages 7, 9, 11, and 14) using the airplane restroom.
Additionally, more than 50 images of a 9-year-old minor, including close-up photos of her face taken while she slept, were found in his iCloud.
Hundreds of AI-generated child pornography images were also found stored in this guy’s iCloud account.
