Lana Del Ray fans are fuming after the singer was ‘snubbed’ again at the Grammys with the hashtag Justice for Lana trending on social media.
It’s not the first time, the star has been nominated 11 times at the prestigious music award show but has come back empty-handed every single time. Lana Del Ray’s five nominations at the Grammys so far include album, pop duo/group, song, alternative music album as well as alternative music performance. This year, Taylor Swift‘s name was read out for Album of the Year for her record Midnights, but she unexpectedly brought Lana Del Ray up on the stage for her acceptance speech.
Lana was nominated 5 times this year but can’t catch a break
Lana Del Ray‘s album Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd was up in two categories in the Grammys, but she lost out to boygenius in the alternative section. The celebrity was nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance for A&W, but Paramore was crowned champion for This Is Why. She was on the list again for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Candy Necklace alongside Jon Batiste. But luck wouldn’t have it, as SZA and Phoebe Bridgers took the gong home for Ghost In The Machine.
What really kicks the bucket is Jack Antonoff, who works with the biggest stars in music, including Taylor and Lana won the award for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical. And he won it for working on her album.
Yikes.
Justice for Lana Del Ray started trending on Twitter (X), because of the Grammys ‘snub’, with fans upset on social media.
Another tough pill to swallow is how, even though she sang on Taylor’s album Midnights – which did win – because of a new rule change at the event, it meant Lana didn’t walk away with a statue.
If the 34-year-old’s album was released a year earlier, Lana would get a Grammy for Taylor winning. Previously, featured artists on an album that wins are also named as recipients of the award, but sadly that changed this year. In June last year, the Recording Academy made a rule change, with stars having to be part of at least 20% of the album for a nomination. Sadly, as Del Ray only appeared on one song, she didn’t meet the requirement, which is why Justice for Lana at the Grammys is even more sour this time around.
Justice for Lana – fans scream after the Grammys
While she didn’t win any awards, fans did love her look. Lana stunned on the Red Carpet in her gothic era, with a black head piece and gorgeous sheer floral gown.
She was definitely honored by the fashion gods for this event. The 38-year-old had heads turning with the puff sleeves and coquette bow and matching black gloves and handbag. She really went in on the bows, with tiny details on her gloves and her heels.
