Hong Sang-soo attends Berlin Film Festival for 5 consecutive years…Kim Minhee can’t attend.

Director Hong Sang-soo completed the schedule of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. Lover Kim Min-hee was not seen.

Director Hong Sang-soo, who was invited to the feature competition section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival on the 19th (local time) for his 31st feature film “The Traveler’s Need”, attended official schedules such as red carpets and press conferences.

Director Hong Sang-soo entered the Berlin Film Festival for the fifth consecutive year following “The Runaway Woman,” “Introduction,” “The Novelist’s Film,” and “In the Water.”

Director Hong Sang-soo, French actors Isabel Wiefer, Kang Seung-yoon, Ha Sung-guk, Cho Yoon-hee, and Kwon Hae-hyo appeared at this year’s festival’s red carpet event.

At a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin, Germany, director Hong Sang-soo said, “I think the movie is given to me rather than making it intentionally.”

Director Hong Sang-soo, who has adhered to the directing method of telling his inner story through lines or monologues of the characters, said, “I don’t think I have to make it. It’s not like I’m thinking about the audience and filming it, he said. “I don’t have a specific reason, but I believe in the natural process of making a movie.”

“The Traveler’s Need” is a story about Iris (played by Isabel Wieffer), who came to Korea from France, teaching French to Koreans and drinking makgeolli.
