The stolen credit card of Kapamilya actress Arci Muñoz reached half a million.
On November 10, 2023, Arci shared with the public what he considered a “horror story in the sky” when he stole a credit card inside a business class plane.
Arci was returning to the Philippines from a vacation in Japan, and the plane had a layover at Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
When Arci attended the advance screening of the first Filipino original Netflix series Replacing Chef Chico this Thursday November 23, 2023, she was curious again of the entertainment press as to how he was robbed of such a large sum.
According to the actress, she was on a Korean Air flight home to the Philippines when the incident happened.
He said he was just sleeping at that time when he was suddenly awakened by an unknown man standing in his cubicle.
Arci explained, “I know I put my bag there on the footrest, well, the flight from Japan to Korea is only two hours.
“So, I just took a nap. When I woke up, my bag was gone.
” Then the man, Chinese-looking, stood in the cubicle there on the plane, in my cubicle.
“He was getting my magazine. When I saw it, my bag was already in the aisle. He let go because he saw me.”
It is said that Arci did not immediately think badly of the man because she did not know what he was doing in front of her.
He said, “I don’t want to be judgmental. I wanted to avoid conflict.
“When I saw it, when I searched my bag, my wallet was there. And usually, I have a card holder, well, I can’t separate the cards.
“By the way, I’m missing one card.”
He said that a flight attendant approached him and that’s when he reported the man’s approach to his cubicle.
“I also did a report, because the flight attendant came. But because, I don’t want to have a commotion, I don’t want trouble.
“So I said, ‘It’s okay, everything’s here.’
“I realized late that it was their modus operandi.”
To sum it up, it is said that half a million was taken from Arci’s credit card before he even noticed it and reported it to the bank.
It is said that this is what the thief used to buy a brand new iPhone and diamonds jewelry in different countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia, so the actress is only regretting it.
Arci said, “It would be okay if I traveled, I produced a movie [the PHP500K].
” I struggled with that. It really hurts.
“So when I found out, I really cut it, I went straight to the bank.
“But of course their investigation, they said that the card is my responsibility.
“Well, I said, ‘It was stolen.’ I wish there was an alert. Because usually when I withdraw, there is a text to me.
“But this time, I didn’t really receive anything. So, I feel, that’s really their modus operandi.”
ARCI’S REMINDER TO ALL TRAVELLERS
In the end, even though Arci was unable to recover the stolen money from him, he hopes that this will not happen to him and other travelers again.

He said, “I really need to be alert. It was so unfortunate, because I really didn’t know what to do.
“I am heartbroken, [the money taken] has not been returned.

He added, “What happened to me was really unfortunate, but that’s it, awareness.
” Let’s be aware and don’t be too complacent anywhere.
“Imagine, I thought I was in a safe place, but it still happened.”
