BLACKPINK Jennie’s highly anticipated solo song “You & Me” has been officially released
At 1 AM KST on October 6th, BLACPINK Jennie officially released “You & Me.” This song also marks Jennie’s solo comeback after 5 years since her debut solo single “SOLO.” Even though fans were already familiar with the sound during the world tour BORN PINK, the “You & Me” MV quickly garnered over 1 million views in just over 30 minutes.
In the performance video for “You & Me,” Jennie transformed into a sailor. The main poster for “You & Me” was even personally drawn by the “Sailor Moon” author. Jennie exudes an enchanting aura, displaying stunning visuals resembling an anime character.
Jennie took charge of the entire production of “You & Me” performance video. “You & Me” demonstrates Jennie’s seven-year idol experience including singing, dancing, rapping, and contemporary dance.
Furthermore, Jennie once again added new rap lyrics to the performance video of “You & Me,” following her performance at Coachella. The rap verse, “I don’t care about your first love, This should be your last one; Nothin’ like your last one; You look better on me, that’s fashion,” particularly attracted attention. Some fans even think of Jennie’s rumored boyfriend, BTS V.
V recently released his solo album with 5 songs that convey a sweet love story. In V’s opening track, “Love Me Again,” the heartfelt lyrics expresses his longing: “I wish you would love me again,” “Are you okay if I’m with someone else?”. Jennie’s new rap lyrics seem to reaffirm that the two are truly meant for each other. As of now, the two have yet to officially confirm their relationship.
