BoA set to play the villain in tvN’s ‘Marry My Husband’ drama?

What’s BoA’s upcoming role in tvN‘s drama, ‘Marry My Husband‘?

As reported, the solo singer BoA is making her return to acting after a hiatus of seven years. While her character in the upcoming drama ‘Marry My Husband’ has yet to be officially unveiled, the production team has urged viewers to remain patient and discover her role when the drama finally hits the screens.

However, media outlets and online enthusiasts couldn’t help but speculate on the character BoA might portray. During the 7th episode of the series, which aired on January 22, the character name “Oh Yu Ra” was casually mentioned.

Accompanying this name drop, a scene between Yu Ji Hyuk (played by Na In Woo) and his grandfather Yu Han Il (played by Moon Sung Geun) featured a newspaper photo of a fraction of a woman’s upper body in the frame.

According to MyDaily, the photograph used in the drama matches the picture of BoA provided by SM Entertainment during a press conference for her 20th debut anniversary album, ‘BETTER,’ back in 2020.

Based on the original web novel, the character Oh Yu Ra is the granddaughter of a powerful chaebol family and is engaged to Yu Ji Hyuk through an arranged marriage. She is depicted as a character with extreme elitist views and a history of school bullying, making her a ‘villain’ character.

Meanwhile, ‘Marry My Husband’ delves into the story of a woman who is tragically murdered shortly after witnessing her husband’s affair. In a twist of fate, she is transported back in time a decade and given a second chance at life, all while plotting her revenge. The drama boasts a cast led by Park Min Young, alongside talents like Na In Woo, Lee Yi KyungLee Kikwang, and more.
