Actor Byeon Woo-seok achieved a career high on the music charts thanks to the popularity of tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Lovely Runner” (written by Lee Shi-eun, directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Kim Tae-yeop)
According to the music site Melon on May 13th, the song “Sudden Shower” by ECLIPSE rose to 10th place on the TOP 100 chart. This is the highest record for “Sudden Shower”.

The song once climbed to the Top 4 of the Korean MelOn chart.
The song has been consistently breaking its own records on the daily charts as well. “Sudden Shower”, which entered the daily chart at 305th place, climbed up to 19th place as of May 12th.
Not only “Sudden Shower” but also another OST from “Lovely Runner”, titled “RUN RUN”, re-entered the Melon TOP 100 chart, ranking 100th following its initial entry at 99th place.
ECLIPSE is a band featured in “Lovely Runner” starring Byeon Woo-seok. According to the drama’s writer Lee Shi-eun, “Sudden Shower” is a self-composed song written by Ryu Sun-jae, recalling his first love Im Sol (played by Kim Hye-yoon). Byeon Woo-seok, who has captured the hearts of many female viewers with his passionate portrayal of Ryu Sun-jae, even causing a phenomenon known as “Sun-jae Syndrome”, showcased his remarkable vocal skills by personally singing the OST.
“Lovely Runner” continues to attract explosive interest from viewers of the MZ generation, maintaining an upward trend in ratings. Starting at 3.1% on April 8th (according to Nielsen Korea nationwide), the drama achieved its highest ratings (4.8%) with the 9th episode airing on May 6th.
In terms of topicality, it has created numerous “Sun-jae enthusiasts”, enjoying a syndrome-level popularity. According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex, in the first week of May, the drama ranked first in TV-OTT overall topicality with an overwhelming 24.19%, and in TV-OTT drama topicality with an even more dominant 60.52%.
Lead actors Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon also ranked first and second respectively in TV-OTT drama actor topicality with 11.20% and 10.35%.
