BACHELOR OF ARTS, MAJOR IN POLITICAL SCIENCE AND GOVERNMENT

For the 50th Founding Anniversary of University of San Carlos – Department of Political Science on December 11, 2020, the school organization was able to catch up with Oliver to ask him about how his background in the course helped him reach his career goals.

Oliver said at the time, “My political science education opened my eyes to greater society. Prior to 2008, I never even pondered on issues surrounding topics, such as elections, power struggles, economies, and the like.

“My professors helped me realize the bigger picture. I was taught the importance of seeing how the world worked, and more significantly, how important I and every other individual was to how it worked.

“At present, my education has helped shaped me to be the person I am today: someone who is practical and idealistic at the same time.

“Someone who understands that: things change; some things can change; some things should change; and that I as an individual can play a part in that decision.”

BACHELOR OF LAWS

Driven by his realizations from studying political science, it was only a matter of time before Oliver decided to undertake a degree in law in the same universiy.

OLIVER MAKES TV DEBUT

ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime unlocked one of its biggest milestones upon its landmark debut on GMA-7 on April 6, 2024.

Packed with exciting collaborations among the regular hosts and Kapuso artists, the episode also gave way for the introduction of Oliver, who stole the hearts of madlang pipol during the show’s “EXpecially For You” segment.

Participating in the hit segment that day was none other than Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee, who was accompanied by her mother, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez.

When it was finally time for Michelle to choose who among Oliver, content creator Kevin, and sportscaster Martin she would like to go on a date with, her two green flags toward the Cebu-based lawyer became the signifying factor that he won that chance.

Other than being Michelle’s date for a day, Oliver additionally grabbed attention for being a look-alike of actor and OG hunk Piolo Pascual.

PERSONAL LIFE

After being hailed as Michelle’s official date on “EXpecially For You,” Oliver had nothing but nice things to say about the 29-year-old beauty queen.

He said in an interview: “Michelle is amazing, elegant, such a well-spoken person, very professional.

“So, yeah, amazing person.”

On April 16, 2024, on the heels of reappearing at the It’s Showtime studio as part of the audience, Oliver made the rounds on social media after being jokingly associated to one of the show’s mainstays, Kim Chiu.

Vice Ganda piqued everyone’s curiosity when she mentioned that Oliver most likely visited the program to see Kim one more time.

When asked about his thoughts on the growing number of people who are shipping both of them, Oliver replied, “I’ve always thought Kim was such a pretty person.

“You know, she’s from Cebu. So, I mean, I guess you could say that.”

He was teased about courting Kim.

But Oliver politely said, “I don’t think it’s fair that I speak about that without Kim’s permission.

“So, I’m so sorry. I hope you understand. But Kim’s pretty nice.”
