Gong Yoo is in discussions to join a new K-Drama also starring Song Hye Kyo which will also reunite him with Coffee Prince director Lee Yoon Jung.
According to an exclusive report from News1, Gong Yoo is in discussions for a new period drama written by famed writer Noh Hee Kyung. Noh Hee Kyung is well-known for writing K-Dramas such as That Winter, the Wind Blows, It’s Okay, That’s Love, and Our Blues. Working alongside Noh Hee Kyung is director Lee Yoon Jung, famous for Coffee Prince, Cheese in the Trap, and The Lies Within.
This would be a reunion on two fronts, not only with Gong Yoo reuniting with director Lee Yoon Jung as the two worked together on Coffee Prince, but also Noh Hee Kyung with Song Hye Kyo, as the two worked together on That Winter, the Wind Blows and Worlds Within.
Gong Yoo is currently preparing for his appearance in Squid Game 2. Gong Yoo’s agency has since confirmed News1’s report.
Gong Yoo has received the offer and is considering it.
