Actress Honey Lee talked about the crisis she faced during pregnancy and childbirth
On November 28th, the YouTube channel “CBS” uploaded a video featuring the guest appearance of actress Honey Lee.
That day, Honey Lee revealed the behind-the-scenes story of her childbirth. She said, “We thought of trying a test-tube baby because we were a little old”.
Honey Lee found out that she got pregnant in the middle of the filming of SBS’s drama “Wonder Woman”. The actress shared, “When I had a drama shoot ‘Wonder Woman’, we were a long-distance couple and he was on a business trip to Hong Kong for three months. But I met him for a short time in September then filmed the drama in September, October and November, so we stayed separated physically for three months. But I got pregnant in September. I don’t know whether the pitcher is really good or the catcher is good”.
Honey Lee continued, “I couldn’t imagine that I got pregnant. I didn’t think that I was pregnant in the beginning when I had symptoms and I kept filming”, adding “I’m not the type to sleep in the car, but I kept getting sleepy. So I told my husband about it and he told me to have a pregnancy test. I couldn’t believe it, so I did it three times”.
She added, “There were still a lot of hard action scenes in the drama and I had to ride the wire. So I prayed, ‘God, please protect my child’, but that’s how the baby survived.”
In addition, the actress mentioned the crisis she experienced during pregnancy. She said, “In around the 18th week, the university hospital called me to do a genetic test. But since I’m a comparatively old mom, I did more genetic tests than I was supposed to, and I got a call again”, adding, “He told me that there’s a high possibility that the result is positive and told me to call the OB-GYN and get an amniotic fluid test promptly. He said that I might need to have an abortion operation. I held back my emotions, closed the clinic door and I collapsed completely.”
However, the amniotic fluid test result turned out to be negative, and she was able to give birth to a healthy baby.
Meanwhile, Honey Lee will appear in MBC’s new Fri-Sat drama “Flower That Blooms at Night”, which is scheduled to premiere on January 12th, 2024.
