I Cut Delicate Flowers Out Of Paper

My name is Pippa Dyrlaga and I am a paper cutting artist based in Yorkshire, England.

I have recently been creating flowers. I hand draw and hand cut each piece from paper which can take hours to complete. I began cutting the flowers in winter, creating a permanent garden.

Last year, I began looking into more sustainable papers for my work, which led me to the washi papers of Awagami Factory in Japan. These can range from 36-90gsm and makes the final pieces incredibly delicate. Each piece took between 10 – 40 hours to complete.
