Jason Momoa has publicly stated that he’s not “homeless” as rumours began to circulate online amid him revealing that he doesn’t own his full-time home – despite his A-lister status.
The Aquaman star revealed this when speaking to ET when he said: “Bro, I don’t even have a home right now,” which led to people online taking the news a tad out of context.
He continued: “I live on the road. So, I’m down to New Zealand to start Minecraft. I hope everyone loves it.”
He added: “I’m always in these weird places,” he says. “You’re gonna find me on the road. It happens all the time.”
“They’re like, ‘What the hell are you doing in our hometown?’”
He continued: “I love the idea of just being with everyday people and doing my craft, which is filming, and then showing them.”
“And so, I think through doing that for so long, I got to be curious about it.”
Although some took the news as Momoa being ‘homeless’, he clarified his living situation with PEOPLE by stating: “I’m just houseless. I’m not homeless.”
Momoa went on to explain that due to his busy filming and work schedule, he just prefers to live life on the road – “going movie to movie,” as the Game of Thrones star explained.
He told the outlet: “I have a nice trailer, everyone’s like, ‘Jason Momoa’s homeless.’ I’m like, ‘Relax. I got a f***ing sleeping bag.”
His clarification on his living status comes only days after his divorce from his ex-wife Lisa Bonet settled roughly two years after the two announced that they had split apart.
Momoa’s aforementioned busy work schedule remains evident, from his upcoming projects such as the live-action Minecraft movie to current ones such as Max’s On The Roam.
Not to mention his massive roles in the industry since starring as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones – such as DC’s Aquaman, fan-favourite Duncan Idaho in Dune, and alongside the Fast and Furious family in 2023’s Fast X.
Although he doesn’t technically own a house at the moment, he told PEOPLE that he plans to and that he’s “excited” to do so.
“I’ve never bought a house yet, so I’m excited to one day,” he told the outlet.
He then joked by predicting how people will react to him buying a house: “’Like ‘Jason Momoa bought a home. Holy s**t. He’s got a pillow now.’’
