Katy Perry is flying into new territory with her latest bold beauty move.
The “Teenage Dream” singer, 39, gave fans lots to discuss with her skin-baring look at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards on Wednesday, where she boldly flashed her backside on the carpet.
Her red-hot look, designed by Ellie Misner, featured a corseted tube top and matching lace-up mermaid skirt that bared her butt, worn with a black G-string underneath. She completed the ensemble with pearl jewelry and sky-high vintage Vivienne Westwood heels.
But the eye-catching details didn’t stop there. The singer also debuted a seemingly faux butterfly tattoo on her lower back.
While posing for photos, the American Idol judge displayed the 3D skin-like, flesh-colored design on her spine, which appears to be a prosthetic done by award-winning special effects makeup artist Hugo Villasenor.
Perry shared a few close-up shots of the faux tat on Instagram, revealing all the details of the raised butterfly body with wings and antennae. She made sure to swing her long ponytail to the side and pose just the right way to make sure the stamp was in shot.
She captioned the photos with, “You’re my butterfly, sugar, baby,” and tagged her glam squad, including Villasenor.
The 13-time Grammy nominee has been on a prosthetics kick lately and her husband Orlando Bloom, 47, has also partaken in the fun.
Earlier this year, the couple — who share daughter Daisy, 3 — dressed up in alien-inspired glam that involved lots of costume-y effects.
Perry wore antennae on her forehead while the two matched with pointy ears and blanked-out eyebrows that made them look like they descended on Earth from another stylish planet.
“Spaced out and starry eyed,” Perry wrote of their futuristic cosplay.
