When Chances Are, You and I lead actors Kelvin Miranda and Kira Balinger first started working together on the set of their Pocket Media Productions project more than a year go, rumors broke out online about them being linked in real life too, despite Kelvin being in a relationship at that time.
During the presscon for their film, Kelvin made sure to clarify the rumor once and for all.
Bigyan mo ng buhay, ng pakiramdam yung character or yung script na binigay sa iyo,” he shared during the Chances Are, You and I presscon held last May 14 at Valencia Events Place in San Juan.
While explaining his side, Kelvin said it was all a natural reaction to embodying his role as realistically as possible.
Yes na-confuse ako sa reality, kung totoo ba lahat ng nararamdaman ko or it’s just because of my character. I don’t know. Nagpakatotoo ako, yes,” he shared.
In the film, Kelvin plays the role of Sol, a pessimist who thinks his life is on the down turn after getting diagnosed with an illness until he meets Gab, played by Kira, a fellow patient.
Walang masama dun. Pinagkakatiwalaan namin ang isa’t isa. And dun nangyari yung magic. Hindi kami natuloy. Wala kaming naging relasyon whatsoever. Kung ano man yung iniisip niyo,” he added.
While shooting the film, Kelvin admitted he had to become a strict morning person in order to accomplish everything he wanted to do for the day before work started. “Nung sinu-shoot po namin dun, nasanay po ako na gumising two hours before. Kung call ng 6:00 a.m., nagigising ako ng 4:00 a.m. kasi nag-workout pa ako nun. nagpapa-makeup na po ako, para pagdating ng 6:00 a.m., prepared na. Nagkakape na ako. Ayoko kasing masyadong minamadali yung preparation,” he recalled.
Kelvin was also thankful to working for the first time with Chances Are director Catherine “C.C” Camarillo. “Parang nanay talaga siya. As in sa lahat ng aspeto, hindi lang sa paggawa ng pelikula. Off cam, on cam, sobrang hands on. Nararamdaman namin bilang kami, inaalam niya talaga yun.
