Lovi Poe is grateful to her husband Monty Blencowe for giving her the liberty to continue pursuing acting despite having to be in a long distance relationship.
“I love my job, I love working so much and my husband knows it. And sabi niya, hindi na niya ‘yun mababago for me. He knows I’ve been working since I was 15 years old and sabi niya, ‘It’s not something I want you to change,’ and I’m grateful for that,” she said as reported by ABS-CBN News.
The actress went on: “He’s very supportive and we’ve been apart for six weeks, and it is not a typical set-up for most people. But you know what we’re making it work and we want to make it work and I’m just very grateful that he’s very understanding and he supports it.”
Lovi is currently back in the Philippines to shoot her upcoming Regal movie Guilty Pleasure.
On how they are handling the long-distance relationship, Lovi that it’s not easy but she’s happy that she has three different places to call home now.
“It’s not the easiest way to do, but I am happy where I’m at, and I’m happy being home here in the Philippines. The truth is yes, I have three different homes (Philippines, US, and UK) but the Philippines for me is still home. I may have projects abroad but iba pa rin siyempre dito. ‘Pag uwi mo, iba ang pagkain, iba ‘yung mga kasama mong tao, ang sarap mag-Tagalog, ‘yung mga ganung simpleng bagay. Kaya I am just grateful that he’s there for me even if I am busy and we find time with each other,” she said.
Now that she’s married, Lovi is also looking forward to starting a family in the future.
“Sa lahat siguro ng roles na puwede kong i-play, probably being a mother will be the most difficult and most challenging ever. Because I’m such a perfectionist when it comes to the characters that I play, what more pa In real life? Because one thing I would like to do perfectly is to be a good mother. When that time comes and if God blessed me with that opportunity, I just want to be a great mother,” she remarked.
The actress said that there are a lot of people in her life that she looks up to when it comes to being a mother.
“Ang dami kong mga examples na I will call my friends and ask them how is it to be a mom and even simple as, when I see my mom how she treats me. You know, I’ve been raised by a single mother so parang you know, I hope I can be good as her. I hope I can be good as my assistant and my road manager, they’re such good mothers tapos they get to take care of me as well,” she stated.
