The contract status of Lisa and of BLACKPINK as a whole has once again been discussed
Recently, fans discovered the profile of Alice Kang, a close manager of BLACKPINK’s Lisa, on the job-centric platform LinkedIn. Here, the manager is listed to have ceased working with YG Entertainment since October 2023.
As a result, many show worries, stating that BLACKPINK’s contract with YG Entertainment has ended, and so far, no news about the renewal status has been released.
The manager’s departure may also be linked with Lisa’s departure, considering the two’s closeness.
Many others also agree with this opinion, stating that in the case of other groups who renewed their contracts, such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, or TWICE, the company always released a statement way before the contract expiration date. However, even now, YG stays silent about BLACKPINK, prompting suspicions that BLACKPINK have not renewed their contracts.
On the other hand, several fans argued that Alice Kang, along with other female managers of BLACKPINK, were meant to only work with the group through their world tour and Coachella performance. BLACKPINK’s main managers are all male, so as long as they are there, BLACKPINK still hasn’t left BLACKPINK.
