Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce & Pan-Seared Asparagus
This dish combines a juicy, perfectly seared steak topped with a rich mushroom cream sauce, paired with crisp-tender asparagus. It’s elegant, flavorful, and surprisingly easy to make at home.
Ingredients
For the steak:

For the mushroom cream sauce:

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

1 small shallot or 1/4 onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup beef broth

1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish
For the asparagus:

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
1. Cook the Steak

Season the steak generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium), or adjust to your preferred doneness.

Add butter, garlic, and thyme/rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for extra flavor.

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest.
2. Make the Creamy Mushroom Sauce

In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté shallots/onions until soft.
