What If You Only See One or Two?

Don't panic.

Finding one or two tiny moth-like insects near a bathroom drain doesn't automatically mean you have an infestation.

An occasional adult insect can appear for many reasons.

The concern is more about a persistent or increasing number of insects.

If you repeatedly see them every day, especially around the same drain, that's when it's worth investigating further.

The Bottom Line

The insects shown in the photograph appear consistent with drain flies, or moth flies.
