Mix Rice With This Ingredient and Place It in the Corners of Your House — It Will Drive Away an Entire Colony of Rats “Never to Return”
This simple yet highly effective method has the advantage of eliminating an entire colony of rats at once.
Rats are troublesome creatures that cause countless problems in daily life. They damage household items, ruin stored food, and carry harmful pathogens that pose risks to human health.
Normally, when rats appear in the house, people turn to traps, glue boards, or rat poison. However, traps don’t always work well (for example, glue boards often catch only small rats), and rat poison can be dangerous if accidentally consumed by pets or young children.
To eliminate rats safely and effectively, you can use simple ingredients already available at home.
You will need a small handful of rice, a bit of cement powder, one spoonful of sesame oil, and a small bowl to mix the ingredients.
First, toast the rice in a pan until it becomes fragrant and turns golden.
Put the rice into a bowl, add one spoonful of sesame oil, and mix well. Then add one spoonful of cement and mix until everything is evenly combined.
Divide the mixture into small portions and place them in areas where rats frequently appear, such as the kitchen, under cabinets, behind furniture, or under the bed.
The smell of toasted rice and sesame oil will attract the rats. After eating the bait, they will feel thirsty and look for water. Once the cement inside their stomach comes into contact with water, it hardens and blocks their digestive system. The rats will suffer from acute intestinal obstruction, leading to internal bleeding and death.
Other Rat-Repellent Methods
1. Using Vinegar
Soak cotton balls in vinegar and place them in areas where rats often pass, such as under the sink or in kitchen corners. Also stuff the cotton into small holes that rats may chew through.
The strong sour smell of vinegar keeps rats away. Replace the cotton balls when they dry out and lose their scent.
2. Using Potatoes
Mash boiled potatoes and mix them with cocoa powder or vanilla to create an attractive scent.
Divide the mixture into small dishes and place them in areas frequented by rats. Place a bowl of water nearby to encourage them to drink after eating.
When rats eat a large amount of potatoes, they become extremely thirsty. After drinking water, their stomachs swell beyond capacity, damaging their internal organs and eventually causing death.
3. Using Soap
Mix grated soap with leftover rice and ground pepper. Place this mixture in areas where rats appear.
Rats dislike the smell and will stay away.
Tips to Prevent Rats From Entering the House
Seal rat pathways:
Block all holes inside the house first. After a few days, seal the holes around the exterior walls.
If all holes are sealed at once, rats may get trapped inside and cause more damage while trying to escape.
Keep the house clean:
Always store food properly and maintain cleanliness to remove opportunities for rats to invade.
