Police Confirm Actress Kim Sae-ron Found De.ad at Home; Investigation Ongoing

According to Chosun, at around 4:54 p.m. on February 16, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul received a report that actress Kim Sae-ron had been found de.ad at her home in Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seongdong District.

 

 

Police stated that a friend of the actress, who had arranged to meet her that day, discovered the incident and immediately contacted authorities.

Authorities confirmed that there were no signs of foul play at the scene. The cause of her death is currently under investigation. The news has shocked the South Korean public.

Born in 2000, Kim Sae-ron was once considered a promising star in Korean cinema, taking on leading roles in various films. However, in 2022, she was prosecuted for driving under the influence after crashing into guardrails and roadside trees. The accident also damaged a transformer station, cutting power to dozens of nearby stores for three hours.

Reports indicated that she attempted to flee when police asked her to exit the vehicle for a sobriety test. Kim Sae-ron was subsequently fined 20 million won. Following the incident, KBS imposed a broadcast ban on the actress.
