Put it in a plastic bag for about 2 minutes
Cleaning an electric fan often makes many people hesitant due to the complicated disassembly process and the time it takes. However, with this simple trick, you can quickly clean your fan in just a few minutes without removing the frame or using water. Your fan will be as clean as new without much effort.
As everyone notices, electric fans tend to accumulate dust after a period of use. This not only affects aesthetics but also directly impacts health. However, not everyone can disassemble the fan to clean it, and it can take a considerable amount of time. Try this trick to clean your fan without removing the frame or washing it.
Using white vinegar and a plastic bag
First, you can make a homemade cleaning solution by mixing fabric softener and white vinegar in a spray bottle, then shake it well to dissolve the mixture.
Next, spray the solution onto the fan blades, then wrap a large plastic bag around the fan’s grill. Turn on the fan and let the blades rotate. The airflow will cause the cleaning solution to spray out and carry the dust with it. In the homemade solution, the cleaner helps remove dirt, vinegar softens stains on the fan, and the fabric softener prevents dust from sticking back.
After cleaning the fan blades, spray more solution onto the grill and use a scrubbing pad to wipe it clean. With this method, your fan will be thoroughly cleaned.
Using baking soda and white vinegar
Ingredients: 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of vinegar, 250 ml of water, a few drops of dish soap, and a spray bottle to mix the solution.
Mix the baking soda and vinegar into the water, add a few drops of dish soap, and stir until the mixture bubbles and the baking soda dissolves. Pour the solution into the spray bottle. Don’t forget to unplug the fan before cleaning.
Spray the solution evenly on both sides of the fan blades to soften and clean the dust as well as kill bacteria. Wait about 10 minutes for the solution to soak in, then plug the fan back in and turn it on. The rotating blades will create airflow, helping the solution spray out and carry away the dirt.
Note: To avoid dust scattering around the house, place the fan in a suitable location such as the yard or bathroom, or use a plastic bag to cover the fan to reduce the spread of the solution.
Using toothpaste and a toothbrush
To clean a fan covered in thick dust, simply squeeze about 3 cm of toothpaste into a container, then add a little water to dilute it. Use an old toothbrush to mix the solution and dip it into the mixture. Then, use the toothbrush to scrub directly onto the fan's grille gaps, along the structural parts of the grille.
Some notes for cleaning a fan without disassembling:
Always unplug the fan before cleaning to ensure safety.
Never let water come into contact with the fan's electrical parts, as this could cause electrical short circuits, affecting safety.
This method is only effective for fans that are not too dirty.
If the fan has accumulated too much dust, this method may not be very effective and may even take more time than disassembling the frame. With this fan cleaning method, you won’t have to worry about cleaning your electric fan. You can use this method regularly, at least once every two weeks, to keep your fan clean and ensure it provides fresh, cool airflow.
