Again, appetite changes are nonspecific and can occur with many illnesses.

5. Jaundice or Yellowing of the Skin

One of the more recognizable symptoms associated with pancreatic cancer is jaundice.

Jaundice occurs when bilirubin builds up in the body, causing the skin or whites of the eyes to appear yellow.

A tumor located near the head of the pancreas can sometimes block the bile duct, preventing bile from flowing normally.

Other signs may include:

• Dark urine
• Pale or clay-colored stools
• Itchy skin
• Yellowing of the eyes

Importantly, pancreatic cancer is not the only cause of jaundice.

Gallstones, hepatitis, liver disease, and other bile-duct problems can also cause it.
