Michelle on National Costume win: “Just proves that we came PREPARED. #BAYANIHAN”
Limang araw matapos ang grand coronation ng Miss Universe 2023, inanunsiyo ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) na ang nanalong Best in National Costume ay si Michelle Dee ng Pilipinas.
Ginanap ang 72nd Miss Universe sa El Salvador nitong nakaraang November 18.
Ang pabonggahan ng National Costume ng mga kandidata ay nangyari noong November 17.
Inanunsiyo ang National Costume winner sa social media accounts ng Miss Universe ngayong Biyernes, November 24:

“Chosen by the fans on our official Miss Universe app, Philippines is taking home the costume vote for this incredible outfit!

Ito ang pang-apat na award na nakuha ni Michelle sa Miss Universe 2023.
Una na niyang napagwagian ang tatlo pang awards: Voice for Change Gold Award, Fan Vote winner, at Spirit of the Carnival Award.
Sa kabila nito, hanggang Top 10 lang ang inabot ni Michelle sa Miss Universe 2023.
Ang pambato ng Nicaragua na si Sheynnis Palacios ang nanalong Miss Universe 2023.
First runner-up si Anntonia Porsild ng Thailand, at second runner-up si Moraya Wilson ng Australia.

Ngunit sa halip na matuwa, mas lalong nainis ang maraming fans ni Michelle sa pagkapanalo nito ng National Costume.
Sabi ng isang tanyag na doctor-vlogger, “If the Best in National Costume was announced before the top 5, it would have created a bigger expectation that MMD will be in top 5. Was it purposely hidden? Is it again a human error? We need answers.”

Litanya ng isa pang netizen, “Yes, Nicaragua deserves it, but not allowing Miss Philippines to enter the top 5 is ridiculous and unacceptable. We all know that Miss Philippines can earn a place in the top 5 and Michelle won the fan vote.
“We also know that Michelle’s advocacy can win on its own. So, why didn’t you give Michelle a chance? Het looks, walk, confidence, and advocacy and also the way she caried the swimsuit, NC, and evening gown, have the power to come close to the crown.

Hindi kaagad nakapagbigay ng reaksiyon si Michelle dahil nasa eroplano pa siya pauwi ng Pilipinas.
Pero nakapag-post siya sa kanyang Instagram Broadcast Channel ng reaksiyon nang makasagap ng signal ang kanyang sinasakyang eroplano.
Sabi lang niya, “Best in National Costume?! [face screaming in fear emoji]”
Ayon sa Google, ang kahulugan ng emoji na ito ay, “While intended to represent horror and fright, it commonly conveys such feelings as shock, awe, disbelief, and intense excitement, as a screaming fan.”
