Actor Park Seo Joon recently revealed the reason why he will challenge other genres other than romantic comedies.
Park Seo Joon emerged as a ‘Romcom King’ after appearing in dramas such as “A Witch’s Love”, “She Was Pretty”, “Fight For My Way”, and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”. However, he has been challenging various genres other than romcom. Therefore, fans who love his romcom acting are expressing disappointment.
In a recent interview with Herald POP conducted at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Park Seo Joon confessed that he wanted to change his genre.
The actor shared, “Since I’ve greeted you all through so many romcoms, I think I want to showcase works of different genres and I will continue to do that for the time being”, adding “There are many kinds of romcoms but I want to bring about some changes in my acting genres. I don’t want to miss out the fun of changing myself”.
He continued, “Since I finished ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’, I’ve been taking new challenges. I don’t think I’ve ever chosen any romcom since then”, adding “I want to continue that way in the future.”
Park Seo Joon emphasized, “Of course, I do like romcoms but I think it’s a difficult genre. It’s not that I will never do them, but I have a strong desire to do other things as well”.
In addition, he said, “‘Concrete Utipia’ and Netflix’s upcoming series ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ are two completely different genres. I don’t know what I will do next, but I think I’ll continue to choose interesting projects”, adding “I’m just saying this right now, but if there’s a good romcom, I might do it”.
Meanwhile, Park Seo Joon recently made his comeback on the big screen with “Concrete Utopia”. It’s a disaster film about survivors gathering at the remaining apartment in Seoul after the city is devastated by an earthquake.
