According to the result of the survey on the popularity of TV-OTT dramas in the second week of April released by K-content analysis agency Good Data Corporation, tvN’s “Queen of Tears” broke its own rating record for five consecutive weeks and topped the chart for six weeks in a row.
In terms of the drama cast’s popularity, Kim Soo-hyun rose to first place again after two weeks, ranking No.1 three times alongside Kim Ji-won. Supporting actors such as Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, and Kim Gap-soo placed No.5, No.8, and No.9, respectively.
Meanwhile, tvN’s new Mon-Tue drama “Lovely Runner” started off better than expected. It scored 42,393 points in popularity score in the first broadcasting week, which is even higher than that of the hit drama “Queen of Tears” (39,775 points). “Lovely Runner” also became the drama that started with the most explosive responses during the past year. The lead actors Byun Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon also ranked 3rd and 4th on the drama cast popularity chart.
Netflix’s “Parasyte: The Grey” came in third place with an increase of 26.8% in popularity figure, while MBC’s recently ended series “Wonderful World” took fourth place. “Wonderful World” actors Cha Eun-woo and Kim Nam-joo also appeared in the cast popularity chart at No.7 and No.8.
No.5 was taken by Disney+’s “Blood Fee”, a drama that premiered last week. The female lead Han Hyo-joo placed 10th among the drama casts.
Good Data analyzed K-content, including TV dramas and OTT series, aired from April 8th to April 14th, 2023 and actors starring in those projects and announced the popularity charts int he second week of April.
