RIIZE’s Seunghan once again finds himself at the center of controversy as a leaked video surfaces, revealing him casually smoking
Seunghan is captured in the video smoking while strolling during an Instagram livestream. What makes this even more intriguing is that the poster of the video reveals they are holding at least three pieces of evidence against Seunghan, threatening to unleash chaos among fans.
The poster has issued an ultimatum to SM Entertainment, giving them one week to address Seunghan’s situation. Failure to do so will result in the public release of all gathered evidence.
Adding fuel to the fire, details about Seunghan’s past romantic involvement with a former SM trainee have also come to light, with the unfortunate revelation that she was either fired or forced to leave.
The poster shares, “More than 3 videos/evidence/scandals, much more shocking, about Hong Seunghan. If within a week SM knows about it and doesn’t resolve it properly, I will publish everything. If this incident spreads, idol fans will be in chaos, especially among 4th gen idols. He dated someone from the same company, but only his ex-girlfriend was forced to leave the company. This was posted by Hong Seunghan, and the one cut out is the ex-girlfriend. Please look forward to it.”
As the tension escalates, another netizen shares a glimpse into Seunghan’s mindset. A conversation screenshot reveals someone advising him against livestreaming on Instagram, to which he casually responds, “Anyway, the smoking incident hasn’t been posted yet.”
In September 2023, SM launched the rookie boy group RIIZE with the single Get a Guitar. Coming from an entertainment “empire”, RIIZE soon received attention and attracted many fans in Korea. However, the group also encountered a lot of noise from the moment the project was announced, mainly due to member Seunghan’s sexual harassment. Not long after the incident of “leaking” sensitive dating photos, Seunghan was recently exposed in a livestream arguing with “BTS younger brother” – Soobin (TXT).
Specifically, in the early morning of November 17, Korean social media was abuzz with a video of Seunghan (RIIZE) being revealed. In the video, the male idol and a person with silver hair (the person who posted the original video captioned this as TXT – Soobin) opened a live together in a private Instagram account. During the conversation, the two joked around with each other, discussing the possibility of becoming idols and MC Music Bank. Not to mention, the person known as Soobin (TXT) also gave Seunghan a “middle toe” (a rude action).
Most notably, the youngest member LE SSERAFIM was mentioned in this conversation. Seunghan caused controversy when he said “Dating our Eunchae”. Hong Eunchae is a female idol born in 2006, not yet 18 years old. Being mentioned as above makes people misunderstand, and can even easily cause her to be gossiped about and harassed. Previously, Eunchae and Soobin worked as MCs for Music Bank together.
The video attracted comments on Korean community sites with many mixed opinions. Many people criticized the lack of discipline and behavior of the two male idols. Instead of video calling together, Seunghan and Soobin chose to livestream despite the risk of being exposed. Besides, LE SSERAFIM fans seemed to be “sitting on fire”, trying their best to protect Eunchae – who suddenly got into trouble even though she had nothing to do with it.
