Sponge Cola guitarist Yael Yuzon showed that he is still head over heels for Karylle as he has once again asked her to be his wife for the second time.
On the noontime show It’s Showtime, the Filipino musician surprised Karylle as he was suddenly called out to the stage by host Vhong Navarro.
After congratulating her on the successful run of her recent theater play Rama Hari and gushing about how proud he is of her, Yael began to talk about their nearly 10th anniversary as husband and wife.
“Magte-ten years na kami na kasal, and ‘yung thing kasi with being kasal na kayo ng 10 years, parang mas na-aanalyze mo ‘yung mga things through the ups and downs,” Yael said.
“Kung sigurado ka back then, mas madaling maging sigurado now kasi mayroon na tayong 10 years together,” he continued.
The singer-songwriter said that there was something he wasn’t able to do in the past that he wanted to do now before pulling out a small yellow box and getting down on one knee in front of Karylle.
“Will you marry me again?” Yael asked his visibly surprised wife, who could not help but laugh as she answered with a resounding “yes.”
After sharing a tight embrace and a sweet kiss, the pair began to serenade each other as they performed a dreamy duet of Sponge Cola’s song Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay.
Later, Yael explained that when he asked Karylle to be his wife before, he popped the question to her inside his car.
“Nasa kotse lang kami, pero doon naman sa kung saan kami nagfirst kiss ever,” he said. “Kotse ko naman, hindi kotse ng ibang tao. Tapos nandoon kami sa exact spot kung saan kami nagkiss for the first time.”
“Hindi kasi kami ma-big gesture eh, parang ever since low profile tayo,” he added, sharing that this is the first time he did something like this in his life.
For his wish for Karylle, Yael hopes that she continues pursuing her passion for theater arts.
“Nakikita ko kapag nasa stage siya, kapag theater kasi tapos live, iba ‘yung pakiramdam, iba ‘yung nakikita mo talaga na nandoon siya tapos ‘yun ‘yung element niya,” he highlighted.
Meanwhile, Karylle opened up about how she and Yael don’t have a perfect marriage, but that the two of them still strive to keep their love for each other strong.
“Hindi naman kami gumawa ng mga written vows kasi hindi naman namin alam kung ano ang mayroon sa future, but ang alam lang namin, we will keep trying and we will fail and we will keep trying again and again and again,” she said.
After getting together in 2010, Karylle and Yael dated for three years before tying the knot in 2014.
During a guesting for Magandang Buhay, Karylle said she was “happy” that he didn’t propose in a public place.
“Kasi nung time na ‘yun uso yung mga big proposals. Eh dahil so much of our lives are shared, I wanted something for myself, for the two of us.
