Celine Dion update on stiff person syndrome as sister moves in with her

Celine Dion continues to battle stiff person syndrome and her sister Claudette has shared a heartbreaking update on the singer’s condition.

The 55-year-old superstar has been at home with her three sons René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson but, her sister has revealed the All By Myself star is struggling to find medications that work for her.

Claudette told Le Journal de Montreal: “When I call her and she’s busy, I speak to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me that she’s working hard. She’s listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.

“I honestly think that she mostly needs to rest. She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and top of her game. At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It’s important to listen to it.”

Claudette explained her sister Linda moved in with Celine, who is the youngest of 14 brothers and sisters, to help care for her as she continues to battle the debilitating illness.

She went on to say her sister is working hard at her recovering as she added: “W e trust her. It’s innate to her, she’s disciplined in every area of her life… We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important.”

Celine suffers with symptoms that include muscle spasms, muscles rigidity and frequent falls, which can be caused due to lack of coordination.

Claudette shared a health update on her sister earlier this year during a TV appearance in Quebec. She said: “We’re all crossing our fingers, and I’m glad people are concerned. She is working hard, and we are confident that we will succeed. It can’t be a story like this.”

She explained: “I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing.”

The iconic singer gave her fans hope when she wrote songs for rom-com Love Again, which she also briefly stars in alongside Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
