Aiko Melendez clears up past issue with Candy Pangilinan: ‘We just needed time’

Aiko Melendez shares that she and Candy Pangilinan are friends again and settled things privately.

Actress Aiko Melendez has addressed concerns from fans after she was not included in the new movie of her longtime friend in the entertainment industry, Candy Pangilinan, as well as Carmina Villarroel and sisters Gelli and Janice de Belen.

In a statement, Aiko clarified that she and Candy have already settled their issues and are on good terms.

Aiko and Candy had a falling out, but the reason was not disclosed.

“You know in every friendship you go through tough times too, But in the end what matters is the love and respect. Candy and I chose to keep quiet about what we went through, because we just needed time and healing, And also in our hearts we know in the end our friendship will remain, etched in my heart,” she wrote on Instagram.

Aiko stated that her friendship with the four actresses has endured over time and that they are all on good terms with each other. She expressed her support for their new film and expressed a desire to work with them in the future.

“Hindi matatawaran ang pinagsamahan namen. Again Goodluck! And will be supporting your movie 🙂 Matagal na po kami ok. We just felt that there is no need to explain or expound kasi mahal ko yan si Candy,” she added.

In a previous interview with talent manager Ogie Diaz, the Kapamilya actress shared that she respects her friend too much to air their dirty laundry out to the public.

“at the end of the day, na naging magkaibigan kami and meron naman siyang magandang nagawa sa buhay ko. Kaya ayoko siyang siraan, ayoko siyang i-bad mouth. Basta ang pinaka-safe na masasabi ko hindi kami okay ngayon,” she previoiusly shared.

Meanwhile, Aiko is set to star in the new ABS-CBN series, Pamilya Sagrado.

She will be acting alongside several stars such as Piolo Pascual, John

Arcilla, Mylene Dizon, Shaina Magdayao, and Kyle Echarri, among others.

Her character in the show has yet to be revealed as of writing.
