Bretman Rock stays real when it comes to Philippine culture.
On the Pretty Basic Podcast, the Filipino-American internet star brought up the topic of karaoke, saying that his go-to is Beyonce’s “Listen.”
“That is literally the Philippine national anthem, girl,” he said. “If you don’t get that song by the time you’re 8 years old…”
When the hosts began to delve on the topic of Philippine karaoke culture, Bretman went on to say that, “It’s not karaoke to us, it’s a performance.”
“It’s a talent show,” he added.
Bretman visited the Philippines a couple times this year. He held a belated birthday celebration in Palawan, and attended the Vogue Philippines anniversary gala.
