To earn money to cover expenses, Mr. D. registered to drive a motorbike taxi for a technology motorbike taxi company, while her grandmother stayed home to take care of T. Because she was sick since birth, T. has muscle atrophy and cannot walk, and needs someone to carry her everywhere.

Ms. Thuy (38 years old, wife of victim D.) said that the couple got married and had a daughter who is now 10 years old. After that, Ms. Thuy continued to give birth to twin girls. Unfortunately, one of the two girls had cerebral palsy, the family had to borrow money and look everywhere for treatment for their child, but to no avail.

Last September, introduced by someone, Mr. D. and his grandmother packed their belongings and brought T. from their hometown in Bac Ruong commune, Tanh Linh district, Binh Thuan to Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, Ms. Thuy stayed in her hometown to work for a company to raise her two young daughters.

The couple's life in the countryside was also difficult, and all they earned was used to treat their daughter's illness, with the hope that her future would be better.

"In my hometown, Mr. D. worked on the farm. When he came to Ho Chi Minh City, he drove a motorbike taxi to earn money to pay for his rent. A few days ago, he called to say that his daughter's condition was improving. He promised to return around the 25th or 26th of Tet," Ms. Thuy recounted.

On the afternoon of December 26, Mr. D. took a passenger to Binh Duong, and was on his way back to Ho Chi Minh City when he had an accident and died.
