3 Foods That Should Never Be Eaten with Eggs — Better to Skip Them Than Risk Your Family’s Health
These foods are highly incompatible with eggs, so avoid combining them.

Eggs are nutritious, easy to cook, delicious, and widely loved. They're a staple in many households. However, while eggs offer many health benefits, it’s important to avoid combining them with the following foods:

1. Do Not Eat Eggs with Soy Milk

Many people enjoy pairing fried or boiled eggs with soy milk for breakfast, thinking it's a nutritious and convenient combo. However, soy milk is actually incompatible with eggs.

According to nutrition experts, soy milk contains a substance called protease inhibitors, which suppress the activity of enzymes that help digest protein in eggs. This can lead to indigestion, bloating, and discomfort. It’s best to consume these two foods at least one hour apart to protect your digestive system and avoid negative effects.

Moreover, soy milk contains trypsin inhibitors, which, when combined with egg whites, can reduce the nutritional value of the meal. Regularly eating eggs with soy milk may even lead to harmful cell development, increasing health risks.

2. Do Not Cook Eggs with White Sugar

The proteins and amino acids in eggs can react with fructosyl glycation products in sugar, forming substances that are difficult for the body to absorb and potentially harmful to health. In some regions, it's common to use sugar when frying eggs, boiling eggs, or cooking egg-based soups — this should be avoided.

Eggs are already rich in nutrients. Adding sugar can interfere with digestion, cause bloating, and increase the risk of diabetes and obesity — all of which pose serious health threats.

3. Do Not Eat Eggs with Persimmons

Persimmons are another food that clashes with eggs. Eating persimmons shortly after consuming eggs can cause food poisoning and acute gastroenteritis, which may lead to vomiting. If this happens, you can try drinking a solution made from 20g of salt and 200ml of boiled and cooled water, or fresh ginger juice mixed with warm water to induce vomiting. The more thoroughly you vomit, the better.

Besides the foods listed above, eggs should also not be combined with pig brain, as it can significantly increase blood cholesterol levels — especially dangerous for people with high blood pressure. Additionally, avoid pairing eggs with rabbit or goose meat, as these “cold” foods can cause digestive issues like diarrhea when eaten together.

Additional Tips for Eating Eggs Safely:

  • Avoid overeating eggs: Despite their high nutritional value, eating too many eggs can lead to nutrient overload. The body may struggle to process all the cholesterol, leading to indigestion, bloating, diarrhea, obesity, and added stress on the liver and kidneys.

  • Do not eat leftover boiled or grilled eggs: Nutrients and proteins in eggs can degrade over time, leading to the formation of harmful substances and loss of nutritional value.

  • Do not add MSG to egg dishes: Eggs already contain high levels of amino acids, which are the main component of MSG. Adding extra MSG may distort the flavor and make the dish taste like it contains excessive seasoning.
