A special regimen shrinks tumors and saves people with late-stage cancer

Based on the information from the Dân trí article, this treatment protocol is a special multimodal approach designed for cancer patients—particularly those with end-stage kidney cancer—who do not respond to conventional chemotherapy. The regimen combines two main therapies:

  • Targeted Therapy – which focuses on specific biological targets within the tumor to inhibit cancer cell growth.
  • Immunotherapy – which stimulates the body's immune system to recognize and eliminate cancer cells.

The three objectives of the protocol are:

  1. Reducing the tumor size to facilitate subsequent surgery.
  2. Increasing the possibility of completely removing the primary tumor.
  3. Controlling metastatic lesions in other organs.

In the specific case mentioned, after 4 months of treatment, the tumor size was significantly reduced from nearly 12 cm to 7 cm, enabling the patient to undergo complete tumor removal surgery without the need for a blood transfusion. Meanwhile, the side effects of the therapy were well controlled, allowing the patient to maintain normal activities and a relatively stable quality of life.

It is important to note that this protocol has been implemented at reputable medical facilities (for example, Bình Dân Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City) and is based on multicenter studies showing a reduction in disease progression and mortality risk by more than 70%. However, the application of this therapy should be carried out under the guidance and supervision of specialized physicians.
