Concave nails, often called spoon-shaped nails, are a warning sign of anemia, liver disease, or hemochromatosis, which occurs when the body absorbs too much iron, heart problems, or hypothyroidism.
5. Scaly nails
The multiple layers of keratin that make up the nail give it a shiny appearance on the surface. Usually, the nail surface begins to peel off because the nail has been exposed to strenuous activities. This can be the result of exposure to very hot, cold, or dry environments. It can also be a reaction to certain chemicals, soaps, or detergents.

White spots on the nails are a common sign of zinc deficiency or anemia.
7. Ridged Nails
Healthy nails will have a smooth surface and no obvious ridges. If the ridges form wavy lines, it can indicate certain health problems such as iron deficiency, arthritis, lupus or other autoimmune diseases.
