Cleaning an electric fan without removing the frame, this way will remove all the dirt

Summer is coming, electric fans are indispensable devices in the family. Cleaning the fan after a period of storage during the winter is necessary. If you still regularly use electric fans, periodic cleaning is essential, helping to protect the health of the user, helping the fan work more effectively.

Normally, to clean electric fans, we will have to spend time disassembling the frame and fan blades to wash them. However, this method will take a lot of time, effort and not everyone can do it. To make cleaning electric fans simpler and faster, you can apply the following tips.

Prepare electric fan cleaning solution

First, you will need a bowl of clean water. Then, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to the bowl. Baking soda and vinegar both have strong cleaning ability, helping to decompose dirt stuck on the fan, making it easier to remove them. Next, add a little dishwashing liquid to the above mixture. Dishwashing liquid will help soften stubborn stains.

Stir the mixture well to mix the ingredients together. Pour the resulting solution into a spray bottle.

In addition, you need to prepare a cleaning cloth, brush, and plastic bag.

You can clean the electric fan without removing the frame by mixing your own cleaning solution and using a large plastic bag.

Cleaning the fan without removing the frame

First, take a cleaning cloth or sponge, soak it in a little of the mixed cleaning solution and wipe it over the fan cage (both the front and back). This step helps remove some of the dirt on the fan. You can also use a brush to brush the dust off the bars of the fan cage.

Then, spray the mixed solution onto the fan cage and fan blades. Note, only spray a moderate amount of solution, do not use too much to cause water to fall into the motor, damaging the fan.

Take a large plastic bag and cover the outside of the fan cage. You can tie the bag to keep it from falling out when the fan is running. Plug in the power and turn on the fan at high speed. Strong winds will blow dirt off the fan blades and cage. The dirt blown out will be blocked by the plastic bag. Turn on the fan continuously for 5 minutes to push all the dirt out.

Next, turn off the fan and remove the plastic bag to check. If the fan is as clean as you want, use a clean cloth to wipe the fan again to remove any remaining dirt. If the fan is still covered with a lot of dirt, you can spray more cleaning solution, cover it with a plastic bag and continue to run the fan for another 2-5 minutes.

If you don't have a plastic bag large enough to cover the fan cage, you can choose a large cleaning cloth instead.

After cleaning the fan cage and blades, you need to use a clean cloth to wipe the entire fan again to remove all the dirt on the fan body.

Notes when cleaning the fan

Fan cleaning should be done periodically to ensure that dust on the fan is removed, helping to keep it clean and safe for the user. In addition, removing dirt on the fan also helps the fan operate more effectively, increasing the life of the device.

Normally, you only need to clean the fan simply without removing the cage. However, after a period of use, you should still remove the fan cage and fan blades to clean and add oil to the necessary parts for the fan to operate smoothly.

Above are tips for cleaning the fan without removing the cage. You can apply it immediately to your home electric fan to save effort and still have a fan that is as clean as new.
