Strokes are on the rise in young people

This shows that this disease is really dangerous, even more terrifying than cancer because it causes death very quickly.

These days, whenever I have free time, I read information about this disease. I see that not only do people have strokes while bathing or exercising like Chi Tai, but people even have strokes while sleeping. There have been many cases of going to bed and not being able to wake up the next morning. Therefore, to prevent and treat promptly, recognizing the 4 signs of stroke while sleeping below is necessary. Because according to experts, within the first 3 hours from the time the symptoms of a stroke appear is considered the "golden time" to receive timely emergency care to avoid dangerous complications.

1. People who feel restless when sleeping

The risk of sudden death can also occur in people who feel restless when sleeping. When talking about this, Dr. Alan Schwaɾtz - Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, USA said that if you feel restless, constantly tossing and turning in bed, and even have signs of restless sleep at night, you will have a very high risk of stroke. 2. People who often snore loudly and feel suffocated when sleeping

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Giap - Respiratory Center, Bach Mai Hospital warns that, for people with sleep apnea, there is often a very clear symptom which is very loud snoring.

Furthermore, this person is even snoring very regularly, suddenly there is no sound, after more than 10 seconds they move again, choke and snore again. In addition, these people often feel suffocated and stuffy when sleeping. Thus, people who often snore loudly and feel suffocated when sleeping will have a very high risk of stroke.

3. People who often wake up in the middle of the night

People who often have trouble sleeping, often wake up at night and may urinate 3-4 times a night are also at very high risk of sudden death. According to a study from the Karolinska Institute (Sweden), these insomnia conditions can be a warning sign of dangerous cardiovascular diseases, including stroke.

4. People who feel tired and have headaches when waking up

Fatigue and headaches can be caused by many reasons. But if you wake up and feel your body in this state, be alert to the risk of stroke.

Because when you wake up in the morning, you will usually feel healthy and refreshed, but when you are in a state of fatigue, headache, very sleepy, not refreshed and very difficult to concentrate, you should not be subjective.

Stroke is increasing in young people, both in Vietnam and around the world. There are cases where people have no underlying diseases or family members who have had a stroke, but it still happens. In recent years, many studies have shown that the rate of stroke in young people is increasing. Related to this, the American Stroke Organization in 2019 also said that the number of strokes in young people has increased by more than 44% in the past 10 years. Not only that, about 15% of people aged 18-50 have a stroke each year. In Vietnam, the rate of stroke in young people is also increasing, averaging about 2% per year, in which the number of men having strokes is 4 times higher than that of women. The main causes are cerebral vascular malformations, lipid metabolism disorders, obesity and physical inactivity, diabetes and high blood pressure, drinking alcohol, smoking... However, there are also cases where people without the underlying diseases mentioned above are still at high risk of stroke. As in the case shared by Dr. Pham Van Cuong - Stroke Center - 108 Military Central Hospital, this center once received a male patient who, although only 26 years old, had to be hospitalized with headaches, nausea, and dizziness for the previous 3 days. It is worth mentioning that this patient had no history of high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease. No one in his family had a stroke. When admitted to the hospital, this male patient was still conscious, not paralyzed or had weak limbs. However, the MRI results showed left cerebellar infarction, 40% left V4 stenosis, 70% left P1 stenosis. This patient missed the golden time for stroke treatment because the disease had started 3 days earlier.
