“Gyeongseong Creature” is arousing keen interest from drama fans ahead of its release
“Gyeongseong Creature” recently unveiled media still cuts for Season 1, raising viewers’ anticipation for its unique narratives. Set in the darkest era of the spring of 1945, Netflix’s series “Gyeongseong Creature” tells about two young people who confront a creature born of greed for survival.
The released still cuts stimulate curiosity as they capture a shady space and various characters in it with an atmosphere that is both romantic and secret. Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon), the owner of Geumokdang pawnshop who holds all the necessary information in Gyeongseong, appears. Living a splendid life, Taesang attracts attention with his perfect appearance. He is threatened by Ishikawa from the police and is on the verge of losing everything.
Taesang joins hands with Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee) and Yoon Jung-won (Jo Han-chul), professional investigators who claim that they can find anyone, even the dead, to uncover the disappearance of Ishikawa before the cherry blossoms are gone. Together, Taesang, Chae-ok and Jung-won infiltrate Gyeongseong Hospital, suspected to be the last place visited by the missing person, and face the hidden secrets. In a place full of monsters of greed rather than actual monsters, their desperate struggles begin.
Director Jung Dong-yoon shared, “The setting of Spring 1045 seems to have made people wonder how the characters would be developed”, emphasizing his focus on both humans and space. Screenwriter Kang Eun-kyung added, “The distinction between good and evil ultimately depends on your decision of which side you stand on, whether survival comes first or living as a human comes first”.
The actors also gave various reactions after seeing the script about the cruel fate of the two young people who try to survive. Park Seo-joon said, “It’s a perfect story”, while Han So-hee shared, “It’s a script that makes me curious from the beginning of the story”.
“Gyeongseong Creature” Part 1 will be released on December 22nd and Part 2 is scheduled for January 5th, 2024.
