A dating rumour of aespa’s Ningning and RIIZE’s Wonbin was the talk of town on Korean forums, but fans quickly shot it down.
On March 13, a topic suspecting aespa’s Ningning and RIIZE’s Wonbin was published on the Korean forum Nate Pann, drawing huge attention. In fact, as of the moment, the topic has attracted over 300,000 views and 200 comments.
According to this topic, there is various evidence of Ningning and Wonbin’s “romance”, from allegedly wearing matching outfits to “flirting” in front of thousands of audiences.
However, many netizens believe that the “dating evidence” of Ningning – Wonbin is not convincing, and the dating rumour ended up being quickly shot down. Below are the alleged “evidence” provided in the original topic.
Matching outfits
The original topic accused Ningning and Wonbin of wearing matching hoodies and hats. However, many audiences believe this to be a mere coincidence, as these items are quite common.
Appearing at the same location
In an image shared by NingNing on her personal Instagram page, a hand holding a lighter appeared. This hand is believed to belong to Wonbin based on similar characteristics such as size and finger length, leading to suspicions of Ningning and Wonbin appearing at the same location.
However, many fans argue that the evidence lacks persuasiveness, as many people have similar hands.
Liking the same song?
The song “Something Like That” by Paul Blanco once appeared in the playlist of Wonbin. Meanwhile, Ningning has performed this song twice on television, leading to another “dating evidence”.
However, many argue that numerous idols also enjoy “Something Like That,” so Ningning and Wonbin’s mentioning or performing this song are not at all indicative of a relationship
Affectionate gazes at events
Ningning and Wonbin were rumored to have exchanged affectionate gazes in front of thousands of audiences at the SM Town Concert in Indonesia last year.
Moreover, Wonbin also attracted attention for what seemed like him gazing intently at Ningning at the Melon Music Awards 2023.
However, many fans argue that artists accidentally making eye contact or looking at each other during events is entirely normal and not worthy of discussion.
Standing close to each other at a concert
Ningning and Wonbin were said to have intentionally stood close to each other at the SM Town Concert held in Japan earlier this year.
In reality, the two idols were actually standing far apart from each other, with no notable interaction. It was the angle of the photo that made the two look like they were near each other.
