It’s Showtime hosts reveal Holy Week plans this year

The It’s Showtime hosts are making the most out of their Holy Week vacation with their families.

Besides preparing for their much-awaited April 6 episode that will be aired on GMA 7, the Kapamilya stars shared what their plans are for the Lenten Season.

Amy Perez revealed to PUSH that she will be spending time with family at home to reflect and bond after a busy schedule.

“This Holy Week, sa bahay lang kami tapos mag-general cleaning ako kasi iyan lang ‘yung only time na ako ay mag-rest so kami ng mga anak ko magkaroon kami ng time to reflect, recharge, and maglilinis ng buong buhay and maglilinis din ng aming mga souls,” she said.

She added: “Very important yun na magrereconnect din kami with God siyempre para alam din ng mga anak ko yung reason bakit kami nagcelebrate ng Holy Week.”

Although not disclosing the location of their next family trip, actress and host Anne Curtis will take time to travel with daughter Dahlia and husband Erwan Heussaff during Holy Week.

“We will be doing a family vacation. Still a surprise kung saan. We’re still deciding where we arre going to be doing our Holy Week… It’s really a time for us to reflect and be together as a family,” she said.

Comedic duo MC and Lassy also have their own family traditions during the Lenten Season.

“Ako talaga nasa Pampanga po kami kasi ang pamilya ko po may mga santo po kami na pinuprusisyon doon every Wednesday and Friday. So, ang Holy Week ko talaga ay laging sa Pampanga with family,” MC remarked.

Lassy also stated, “With my family. Pupunta kami ngayon ng Puerto Princesa ng Palawan. Magbibisita iglesia kami doon, magninilay-nilay, magdarasal, at siyempre first time kasi ito so sama-sama ang lahat.”

For actor and dancer Vhong Navarro, he shared that the Holy Week would be his time to bond with his family, especially now that his kids have their own jobs.

“Magpunta kami ng Korea ng family ko,” he said. “Ngayon kasi ito yung time ko para mas mahaba na kasama ko sila kaya nagdecide na lang kami umalis, magspend nga ng time sa kanila para mas relax.”

Singer and host Karylle Tatlonghari has a planned trip with her husband, SpongeCola vocalist Yael Yuzon, after they renewed their vows on their 10th anniversary.

“We’re going on a couple of trips. I won’t say where yet, but we are just going on some special trips to our favorite places and some places we have never been to before as a couple,” she remarked.

Ryan Bang also plans to bring his family to the Philippines during Holy Week.

“Dito lang ako sa Pilipinas baka uuwi kamag-anak ko dito sa Pilipinas galing Korea. Sila na uuwi dito kasi mas masaya dito,” he said.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN and GMA inked their partnership contract on March 20 to start airing It’s Showtime on GMA.

The historic television event was attended by the noontime show hosts, its production team, as well as ABS-CBN and GMA executives, marking a new and brighter era for the show.

“It has always been our purpose to make our madlang people happy since day one. We can’t wait to introduce ourselves to you, our Kapuso. To our GMA family, sobra sobra kaming nagpapasalamat for taking us in,” Anne remarked, expressing excitement for the show.

Vice Ganda, who will also have his birthday episode on April 6, also expressed his gratitude for having another home for the noontime show.

“We are just so grateful. My heart is full of joy and gratitude. Maraming salamat sa GMA!”
