1. Reaching for Your Phone Immediately

It's tempting to check emails and messages the moment you open your eyes, but this can be harmful. Using your phone first thing in the morning puts your brain into a state of stress. Furthermore, encountering negative or sensitive information can significantly impact your mood and mindset for the entire day. Over time, this can negatively affect your mental health, increasing the risk of burnout and reducing your creativity.



2. Jumping Out of Bed Right Away

Many people leap out of bed as soon as their alarm goes off, but this can be risky. When you sleep, your blood pressure is typically low and tends to rise rapidly upon waking. Therefore, suddenly getting up can cause a sharp increase in blood pressure, potentially leading to insufficient blood supply to the brain, causing dizziness and discomfort. In some cases, this can even lead to stroke or other dangerous conditions.

Instead, when you wake up, lie still for about two minutes and gently start moving your body with some small stretches before getting out of bed.


3. Urinating Immediately

Most people will urinate immediately after waking up, but this can lead to transient cerebral ischemia, leading to fainting when urinating. In the cold winter, early morning is a time when myocardial infarction and cerebral vascular accident are likely to occur. Middle-aged and elderly people who go to the toilet immediately after waking up are also prone to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.




4. Drinking Coffee Immediately to Wake Up

Coffee can help you feel alert, but drinking it right after waking up can be counterproductive. When you first wake up, your body is already in the process of producing cortisol – a hormone that naturally helps you feel alert. If you drink coffee at this time, the caffeine can interfere with cortisol production, causing your body to become dependent on coffee to maintain alertness.


This can reduce the natural effectiveness of cortisol and make you feel more tired later in the day. Additionally, drinking coffee on an empty stomach can stimulate stomach acid, increasing the risk of stomach pain, acid reflux, and other digestive issues.
